Scott Matthews founded Scott's Quality Improvements in 2004 but his improvement skills began when he was just a teenager. Born and raised in Manhattan Beach, Scott started learning about home improvements from his father Jimmy whom he helped build a room addition to their home. Scott grew up an avid surfer and lover of art and pursued an art degree in college and supported himself by painting homes.

After working as a graphic artist, Scott returned to construction. Over the years he has worked in a variety of jobs that range from home improvements and apartment maintenance to soil engineering and tricycle manufacturing. His accumulation of skills has proven to equip him with a broad range of knowledge that is well utilized as a general contractor and improvement specialist. Scott enjoys working on a wide variety of projects and finding creative solutions for his customer’s home and tenant improvement needs.
